Project Manager:

The Project Manager will be responsible for facilitating the design, fabrication, delivery and installation of Architectural Metal Panel Systems on commercial construction projects throughout North America. The position requires prior construction/architectural experience with a strong understanding of construction process, methods, means and materials. The role will scope, budget and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule: Develop initial and progress schedules. 
  • Scope: Determine the work required and the desired outcome.
  • Budget: Create the project budget based on due diligence, vendor quotes and past projects.
  • Installation Subcontractor Selection: Qualify vendors, conduct bid process, and lead contract negotiations.
  • Execute the Project: Create and manage to a master project plan. Ensure that internal staff and contractors are accountable for their given scope. Make plan adjustments as project issues arise.
  • Monitor and Control the Project: Proactively identify potential issues and mitigate issues, forecast, manage budget, and provide regular communications.
  • Project Administration: Review and mark-up construction drawings, approve invoices based on milestone completion; maintain a shared repository with project documentation.
  • Close the Project: Facilitate final walk-through, punch-list items and follow up through completion.
  • Reporting: Deliver weekly status reports to management and respond to ad hoc inquires as required. Submit final budget and closeout reports.
  • Administer and Improve Standards and processes: Ensure that processes and standard operating procedures are followed in the execution of a project. Update documentation based upon lessons learned and employee / customer feedback.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree within Construction Management preferred but not required. Project Management training.
  • Experience: At least five years of professional experience within construction management. Knowledge of construction contracts, AIA construction law and requisition documents, and the bid process.
  • Software Skills: Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications, and HP Plotter.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated track record of success in delivering construction projects including administration. Must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills; demonstrate initiative, with the ability to facilitate a group. Understands the needs of the customer and translates them into relevant actions.

Travel: Up to 25% travel to project sites.
