What Are The Advantages of MCM Panel Systems?

Everything's better when it's a "composite," right? You combine the strength of one metal with the flexibility of another for something that's even better than the sum of its parts. Plus, composite metals feel sort of futuristic, don't they? It's like we're out here developing brand new materials, the kind you could build a spaceship out of.

So Metal Composite Materials are cool, but you can't run a construction project based on what's cool, it's got to have a purpose, it's got to have a function, not just form. So what are the actual, practical advantages of using MCM panels over other building materials? Here are a few:

  • MCM panels tend to be much more lightweight than standard metal panels. Simply put, it takes a lot less composite material than steel to create a structure of the same size and durability for a building.
  • Versatility. MCM panels are often custom-shaped right on the job site. You don't need to order every panel a month in advance and hope it comes out right, you can twist and bang and bend and fold MCM panels around to the shape of your building.
  • A long lasting, durable, appealing appearance. Many metals will rust or become damaged through regular weathering rather quickly. When you use MCM panels, the building will still look like it does today a year from now.
  • Reduced installation time and labor costs. MCM panel systems are usually designed for easy building, snapping together sort of like plastic toy bricks or being slid into place with a little adhesive. You won't be out there all day drilling and welding and bolting the structure together.
  • Insulation. MCM panels are one of the easiest, and neatest-looking ways to ensure a properly insulated building.

These are just a few of the advantages. From multi-layer to one-piece panels and custom-made composites, MCM panels are, simply put, the easiest choice you could make on a building project.
