In downtown Owensboro, KY a revitalization is underway. With the expansion, new luxury housing options was a must, prompting the commission of Hafer Design to design The Enclave at Riverfront Living. The mixed-use residential building features five condominiums with a large penthouse on the upper level. The remaining structure includes multiple restaurants with expansive outdoor seating.
As the architects at Hafer describe, “This modern four-story building, designed of brick, stone, and glass, features a curved metal roof that complements nearby buildings. Each of the condominiums includes a large outdoor living space providing spectacular views of Smothers Park, downtown Owensboro and the Ohio River.”
The 12-million-dollar project was developed by Jack Wells who was seeking a “New-York style penthouse.” A part of numerous developments in the downtown area, Wells saw the need to bring contemporary living space to the area. “We need people to live, work, eat and be entertained in downtown Owensboro. It creates that vibrant city,” Wells explains.
The facade features single skin metal and Reynobond Titanium 4mm FR panels. The metal composite material was fabricated by CEI Materials utilizing the R4000 Drained/ Rear-Ventilated Rainscreen Panel System. This customizable system offers rain screen technology with varying joint widths as well as color versatility. Tested to meet ASTM 283, ASTM 330, ASTM 331 and AAMA 509-09 standards, this versatile system is also NFPA 285 Compliant.
