Vermont's Largest Automotive Dealership Receives Massive Sustainable Expansion

Vermont’s largest automotive dealership, The Heritage Automotive Group, received a massive expansion in order to accommodate their growing automotive service, sales and parts delivery services. With a presence in the Vermont community since 1994, the Group employs over 350 employees. In 2012, the team embarked on a multi-phase, multi-building expansion that included the new Heritage Toyota Parts and Service building.

Designed by Scott + Partners Architecture, of Essex Junction, VT, the 35,000 square-foot structure features nearly 30 service bays, multiple express lube bays, two alignment bays and a two-story parts storage area. Working closely with the general contractors at Engelberth Construction, the facility was erected with a variety of eco-friendly attributes.

As the representatives at Engelberth describe, “The entire facility is heated by reclaimed waste oil through a radiant heating system. Other green features include two to three times more insulation than the previous building, a special coating on the roof which reflects heat in the summer while retaining the cooler air inside, large double pane windows for natural light, and sensor activated high efficiency LED light and water fixtures.”

CEI Materials stayed true to Toyota’s national branding with the completion of the metal composite panels used on the exterior. The façade was fabricated utilizing the team’s R4000 Drained/ Rear-Ventilated Rainscreen Panel System. This system has been tested to ASTM 283, ASTM 330, ASTM 331 and AAMA 509-09 standards.
